I wanted to let you guys know about my day yesterday. It was raining, so after a short 3 mile run I decided to go up and check out a couple of my legs since they aren't too far from my house and run my second 5.2 mile leg to see how it would go. My first leg is up to Snowbasin, the canyon is beautiful right now! (Somebody remind me of that when I get to the top on Friday). Then I decided to try FRS and see what it was like, so about 45 min. before I ran, I chugged a can. It didn't seem to agree with my stomach very well. I did run, but my stomach was killing the whole way and didn't stop for about 1 1/2 hours afterward. I had eaten lunch about 3 hours before I ran. Has anyone else had a problem like this??
By the way, I'm glad I ran my second leg because the exchange is at the fairgrounds which has been moved since the last time I was up there which left me wondering if I had taken a wrong turn. That could have been a fun one to figure out at 3:30 a.m. this Saturday!! I am excited for this weekend...GO TEAM!!

Wow! I guess that stuff does not agree with you. That, or you are not used to it yet. Glad you are ok.
During the race there will be signs at all of the confusing turns so that you don't go the wrong way. Hope that makes you feel better. Sorry I didn't mention that before.
Along with there being signs, there will also be a lot of other runners and vans around.... they can help you if you get lost. Follow the crowd! :)
Sorry to hear that it didn't agree with your stomach. I guess I should've mentioned that when I go running (or biking) I have a bottle of FRS concentrate that I mix some with water. I have generally used more water (making it more diluted than the suggested mix) which has helped and my stomach agreed with. The chews are really good during. I've only tried the can drinks a bit, and yes I have had a bit of a stomach ache. But, it went away fairly fast once I started running, maybe diluting with water will help. I tried a cherry trail mix which gave me a stomach ache, it did have a high count of cherry's (it took some getting use to). Hope that helps. But, do what agrees with you. There are lots of things out there, and stay away from things that dehydrate and always drink plenty of water with anything.
Thanks for the info. I think my stomach just has to adjust to things like that, I bet diluting it w/water would help. I'm just glad I tried it out before the race!
